Pulitzer Prize winning author Dr. Siddhartha Mukherjee will be the featured speaker at the keynote luncheon at the LES Annual Meeting. which was the basis for a 2015 film documentary, Cancer: The Emperor of All Maladies, by Ken Burns for PBS Television. The book was named one of the 100 most influential books written in English since 1923 by TIME Magazine, and one of the 100 notable books of 2010 by The New York Times Magazine. Dr. Mukherjee is an assistant professor of medicine at Columbia University and staff physician at Columbia University Medical Center in New York City. He has been the Plummer Visiting Professor at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, the Joseph Garland lecturer at the Massachusetts Medical Society, and an honorary visiting professor at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.
The Frank Barnes Award will also be presented at this event.
