One area that has not been fully explored, however, is the effect the AIA has had and will have on strategic alliances, including mergers, joint ventures and licensing. The Boston Chapter of LES is pleased to sponsor an expert panel presentation and discussion on the implications and ramifications of the AIA for strategic alliances. SPEAKERS Hemmie Chang, Esq. Partner, Foley Hoag LLP Hemmie will provide insight on the implications the AIA has for licensing, and pitfalls to avoid when negotiating and drafting a license post-AIA. Robert Millman, Esq. Managing Director, MPM Capital Robert will discuss the implications of the AIA for IP due diligence, and the effect the Act has had, and may have, on life science deal making. Jeremy Younkin, Esq. Partner, Foley Hoag LLP Jeremy will provide an IP litigator’s perspective on how the AIA may influence litigation aspects of a strategic alliance, focusing on post-grant review. DeAnn Smith, Esq.
