LES Annual Meeting Call for Proposals EXTENDED

Call for Proposal EXTENDED until, Wednesday, April 29 
We encourage you to submit a workshop proposal for the 2015 Annual Meeting of the Licensing Executives Society (USA & Canada), Inc.  Workshop proposals will be accepted until Wednesday, April 29. Successful workshop proposals will be consistent with the Annual Meeting theme,"Big Ideas: The Intersection of Innovation and Business".

Strong preference will be given to workshops addressing:   
  • Current trends and hot topics in Licensing
  • Strategies and tools to effectively develop, manage and commercialize an IP portfolio
  • Deal Considerations and Examples of licensing deals that follow the theme of "Big Ideas: The Intersection of Innovation and Business"
  • Technology and industry issues related to LES sectors (High Tech, Life Sciences, CEEM, IUGI, and Consumer Products.)

To ensure a meaningful and rewarding experience for all attendees, successful workshop proposals will not only be topical but will include diverse perspectives. We encourage you to include presenters and panelists from different professional settings, e.g., private industry, both large and small, government, and academia; and having varying professional experience, e.g., licensing, business development, legal, regulatory, etc.

The LES 2015 Annual Meeting will take place October 25-28 in New York and is the premiere IP, licensing, and technology business development event of the year - featuring three days of high-quality educational sessions, and ample networking opportunities.We encourage all who wish to share their knowledge and expertise to visit our guidelines and submit a proposal. Speaker Highlight
David W. Jones, assistant general counsel for intellectual property policy of Microsoft, will be on the panel for the Plenary Session Innovation vs. Legislation: How Legal Changes Are Affecting Technology Companies 

Prior to joining Microsoft in 2007, David worked as a counsel to the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee, where he was responsible for intellectual property and antitrust matters, serving in various positions, including chief antitrust counsel for the Judiciary Committee and counsel to the Intellectual Property Subcommittee.

David received his legal education at the University of Virginia School of Law, and 
completed two appellate clerkships, one with Judge Will Garwood of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 
Fifth Circuit and the other with Judge Sharon Prost of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. 

David began his career in the Regulatory and Appellate Litigation practice group at Sidley & Austin in 

Washington DC, where he worked primarily on matters involving telecommunication and Internet law.
